DIRECTORS JOHN ADAMS AND TOBY POSER IN ATTENDANCE
After release from prison, Nick (John Adams) is trying to walk a straight line, flipping burgers and taking care of his father, Pop, who’s forgotten what a terrible dad he once was thanks to the onset of dementia. When Nick is reintroduced his daughter Edie (who announces she’s now a boy) and his ex-wife, Vick (Toby Poser), who recently experienced a stroke, this ragtag team of misfits join forces to relearn everything they know about what makes a family. The road to peace is rugged, but the first step will get you halfway there.
John Adams and Toby Poser are Sullivan County residents, and have produced several films in the region through their production company Wonderwheel Productions.
Filmmakers and cast will be in attendance for a Q&A after the film.

John Adams, Toby Poser, and their daughters, Lulu and Zelda, are a film making family under the creative marquis of Wonder Wheel Productions. They have 4 features under their belts: Rumblestrips (2012), Knuckle Jack (2013), The Shoot (2014)— all earning a hearty reception on the indie festival circuit, including Best in Show and Audience awards— and their latest Halfway to Zen (2016). For each they’ve employed the same DIY ethic — between the four of them, they write, direct, produce; they shoot, edit, act. John serves as DP and also composes the music and edits; Toby produces. When not in front of the camera, they all shoot and record sound– the kids (aged 17 and 12) included. The family lives in Topanga, CA and the Catskill Mountains of New York where John and Toby are currently at work on their 5th and 6th features.
